What is the reward for cleaning and tidying the mosque, and for taking care of the Imam?

Caring for the mosque, cleaning it, tidying it, and showing concern for the virtuous Imam and righteous scholar, is a praiseworthy and desirable act, for which one is rewarded by Allah. The one who performs such acts falls within the general scope of loving and honoring the righteous, and this is considered a righteous deed.

Allah has commanded the veneration and elevation of mosques in His saying: (In houses which Allah has ordered to be raised and that His name be remembered therein; Exalted is He within them in the mornings and the evenings Men whom neither commerce nor sale distracts from the remembrance of Allah and performance of prayer and giving of zakah. They fear a Day in which hearts and eyes will [fearfully] turn about). And the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade spitting in the mosque.

However, it must be noted that it is not permissible to seek blessings from the person of the Imam, or his essence, or to rub against him for blessings.
