- What is the ruling on saying "amanah" (trust/oath), with details?
If by "amanah" (trust/faith) what is meant is an oath, then it is not permissible to swear by it, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Whoever swears by amanah is not of us," because it is not one of Allah's names or attributes, and it is not permissible to swear by anything other than them. Ibn Hajar Al-Haytami considered swearing by it a major sin. As for swearing by "Amanatullah" (the trust of Allah), Abu Hanifa considered it an oath, whereas Al-Shafi'i did not.
