Is it permissible for a Muslim to take interest from a non-Muslim if it benefits the Muslim and their family?

The prohibition of usury is established by the Quran, Sunnah, and the consensus of scholars. There is no distinction in its prohibition or in dealing with it, whether between Muslim lands and lands of disbelievers, or between a Muslim and a disbeliever, or male and female, or young and old. The texts are general, and nothing has come to specify them. What some muftis have said regarding the permissibility of taking usurious interest from disbelievers is a weak opinion and contrary to the Quran and Sunnah.
