What is the ruling on accidentally removing a single hair from the face immediately after completing the 'Umrah rituals and before shaving (or shortening the hair)?

If the hair removed was alive, there is a fidyah (expiation) for it, and its amount is a matter of differing opinions:

- It was said: For every hair, one Mudd of food (Al-Hasan, Ibn Uyaynah, and Ash-Shafi'i).

- It was said: For one hair, one dirham, and for two hairs, two dirhams (Ahmad).

- It was said: For every hair, a handful of food (Ata').

- It was said: Giving food for a small amount of hair (Malik).

- It was said: Giving charity of something; because there is no specific estimation for it (Ashab Ar-Ra'y - people of opinion).

Whichever of these opinions the questioner adopts, it will be sufficient for him, Allah willing.
