Is it permissible for a Muslim woman to marry a Muslim man of unknown parentage of European origin?

It is permissible for a Muslim woman to marry a man who is upright in his religion, even if he is the son of zina (fornication/adultery), because he does not bear the burden of another's actions, as Allah Almighty says: "And no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another." The prophetic hadith "The son of zina will not enter Paradise" is not authentic. No reputable jurist has forbidden marriage to the son of zina; rather, they differed regarding his kafa'ah (suitability/equivalence) in terms of lineage, and the correct view is that piety is the criterion.
