Cutting miswak sticks and fruits within the sacred precinct (haram) is not among the prohibited acts. Exceptions to the prohibition of cutting trees in the haram include idhkhir (lemon grass), senna, miswak, sticks, and what is intended for habitation or for repairing walls. As for the cat, there is no penalty for killing it, whether it is domesticated or wild, because it is not among the edible game animals.
