Why do you not favor the obligation of the sitting of rest (jalsat al-istirāḥah) in prayer, despite the words of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, "Pray as you have seen me praying"?

The "jalsat al-istirahah" (rest-stop sitting) in the odd-numbered rak'ahs of prayer is a matter of scholarly disagreement. It is among the Prophet's (peace be upon him) actions, not all of which are obligatory; rather, some are obligatory, some are pillars, and some are sunnah. The hadith "Pray as you have seen me pray" and "Take your rituals from me" indicate the permissibility of his actions and the desirability of emulating him. However, the ruling of obligation is not resorted to except with an indicator. Indicators have shown that this sitting is not obligatory, as it is not mentioned in many narrations.
