What is your opinion regarding someone who borrows money in order to participate in investment schemes?
One should not expand excessively in taking on debt except out of need or necessity. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to seek refuge from debt and frequently supplicate for its repayment, due to its seriousness, as even a martyr's debt is not forgiven. A Muslim should not borrow large sums for speculative trading and should be content with what Allah has provided him. Ibn 'Uthaymeen mentioned that borrowing to buy stocks is foolishness, due to the danger of debt and the preoccupation of one's responsibility.
