Is fighting forbidden in Mecca, Medina, and Jerusalem according to Islamic law?

Allah has forbidden fighting in the Sacred Mosque (Al-Masjid al-Haram) in Makkah and made whoever enters it safe, as He says: "Have they not seen that We made [Makkah] a safe sanctuary, while people are being snatched away all around them?" Allah forbade it on the day He created the heavens and the earth, and fighting therein was not made lawful for anyone except for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, for a single hour of a day. Fighting is also forbidden in the sacred precinct of Madinah, due to the Prophet's, peace and blessings be upon him, saying: "Indeed, I have made Madinah a sacred precinct, between its two lava fields, so that no blood should be shed in it, nor should weapons be carried for fighting." As for Jerusalem (Al-Quds), it is not a sacred precinct (haram).
