Is it permissible to wear a wig for 6 months or more to improve one's psychological state, due to hair loss that has led to bald spots on the head?

Joining hair with a wig that is sewn and attached to the scalp is considered a prohibited form of hair extension according to Islamic law, based on the Prophet Muhammad's (peace be upon him) saying: "Allah has cursed the woman who extends hair and the woman who asks for hair to be extended for her." As for placing a wig on the head, it is permissible according to the more preponderant opinion. A Muslim should not attach his heart to something whose loss would cause depression, and he should praise Allah for well-being.
