What is the religious ruling on a young man wearing a wig due to suffering from alopecia and hair loss, given that he experiences abuse and psychological distress when he takes it off?

It is forbidden to attach hair with impure hair or human hair for both men and women, according to the Hadith: "Allah has cursed the wasilah (one who attaches hair) and the mustawsilah (one who asks for hair to be attached), the washimah (one who tattoos) and the mustawshimah (one who asks for tattooing)." This prohibition is due to deception, altering Allah's creation, and the impermissibility of benefiting from human hair. As for attaching hair with something other than pure human hair, the Hanafis permitted it. The Malikis forbade attaching hair with hair or anything else, but they explicitly stated that placing hair on the head without attaching it is permissible because it does not fall under the prohibition. The Hanbalis, on the other hand, forbade attaching hair with hair, whether human or otherwise, but permitted attaching with non-hair for necessity.
