What is the Shariah and medical ruling regarding the state of intense sexual desire that afflicts an unmarried girl, and what is its effect on her as a virgin?

We advise the questioner (sister) with the following:

1. Initiate marriage whenever possible, and the woman should ask her guardian to search for a righteous man.

2. If marriage is difficult, she should fast frequently, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "O young people, whoever among you can afford to marry, let him do so. And whoever cannot afford it, let him fast, for it will be a shield for him."

3. Avoid causes that incite lust, such as forbidden gazing and listening to music.

4. Occupy time with beneficial work, reading the Quran, and studying the biographies of the righteous to raise spirits and strengthen resolve.

5. Associate with righteous women and avoid gatherings that distance one from Allah Almighty.
