Is it permissible to entrust a person addicted to smoking to God for protection from its harms, in addition to supplicating for their guidance?

It is imperative that you clarify to the smoker the ruling on smoking and its harms. Mention to him the things that help in quitting it, such as specialized clinics and associations for those who have repented. And do not neglect the aspect of supplicating for him for guidance and to quit the sin. It is permissible to supplicate that one entrusts this person to Allah for His protection from the evil of smoking, citing the hadith: "Indeed, when Allah is entrusted with something, He preserves it," and the supplication of the Prophet, peace be upon him: "I entrust you to Allah, with whom deposits are not lost," and his supplication for the traveler: "I entrust to Allah your religion, your trust, and the last of your deeds."
