Is it permissible to retract a supplication for a specific illness when one returns to smoking, and is it feared that God will answer it after one regrets it?

The only way out of smoking is to struggle against one's self towards sincere repentance and not return to this bad habit, remembering that smoking is an act of disobedience to Allah Almighty, harmful to the body, and a waste of money. The one who repents should take measures that help him remain steadfast in repentance, which are:

1. Supplicating Allah Almighty: Persisting in supplication that He grants him steadfastness and keeps his heart firm in His religion.

2. Avoiding places of sin and bad company: And befriending righteous, upright believers.

3. Always being mindful of Allah's watchfulness: For Allah knows everything, and whoever is shy before Allah does not disobey Him.

It is important to point out the questioner's mistake in supplicating illness upon himself if he returns to smoking, as an evil supplication might be answered at a time of acceptance, just as we are forbidden from supplicating against ourselves, our children, and our wealth. Also, the questioner's statement "O Lord, if You truly exist..." is a great disrespect towards Allah Almighty.
