What is your advice to a married woman who suffers from severe obsessive-compulsive disorder (waswas) regarding wudu (ablution) and ghusl (ritual bath), which takes her a long time, and these obsessions have caused her to be hospitalized?

Continue your treatment at the psychiatric hospital and seek Allah's help. Recite Ayatul Kursi before sleeping, and say: "In the Name of Allah, with Whose Name nothing whatsoever on earth or in heaven can inflict harm; He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing" three times in the morning and evening. Perform ruqyah (self-exorcism) on yourself by reciting Surah Al-Ikhlas and Al-Mu'awwidhatayn (Surah Al-Falaq and Surah An-Nas) three times and wiping your body with your hands after each recitation when you go to sleep, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to do. Supplicate to Allah by saying: "O Allah, Lord of mankind, remove the affliction and grant healing, for You are the Healer. There is no healing except Your healing, a healing that leaves no illness behind" three times. Also, make the supplication for distress: "There is no god but Allah, the All-Mighty, the Forbearing. There is no god but Allah, Lord of the Magnificent Throne. There is no god but Allah, Lord of the heavens and Lord of the earth and Lord of the Noble Throne." Maintain purity after ablution or ghusl (ritual bath), and abandon obsessive thoughts and prolonged stays in the bathroom.
