The answer

The noble verse (At-Tawbah/34-35) warns against the rabbis and monks who consume people's wealth unjustly and hinder from the path of Allah, and against those who hoard gold and silver and do not spend them in the way of Allah. It threatens them with a severe torment on the Day of Resurrection, where their wealth will be heated in the fire of Hell, and their foreheads, sides, and backs will be branded with it. Scholars have mentioned that specifying these body parts for branding might be due to the severity of branding them, or because they are hollow and the heat would reach their inner parts, or because the rich miser would frown at the poor, turn his back on them, or turn away with his side, so the retribution was of the same kind as the deed.
