Parents must be just in their giving to their children and in all matters. Respect and good companionship should prevail among in-laws. Harm from parents towards the wife must be repelled without mistreating the parents. Leaving the parents' home is not disobedience to them, as the wife has the right to an independent dwelling. The wife and parents must be given their rights; the parents' right to dutifulness remains, even if they act poorly, with good counsel offered to them. The brother who does not pray and harms others with jinn and devils is in grave danger. If he practices magic himself, it is a greater abomination and a path to disbelief. He must be advised and called to repentance. If he persists, he should be shunned if shunning is hoped to deter him.
