The verse of the (Al-Ahzab: 53) is not exclusive to the wives of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, but is general to all believing women, because its rationale, "that is purer for your hearts and their hearts," is general. It is not permissible to trust oneself and not fall into temptation when alone with a woman who is unlawful to him. Therefore, the relationship with her must be cut off immediately.
