Is it permissible to sell a musical instrument, after repentance, to a non-Muslim and take its price?

The prohibition of listening to musical instruments and musical devices is indicated by religious texts and the statements of scholars, due to the great harms they entail. Since the means to something forbidden are not permissible, selling musical instruments and devices is unlawful, and the earnings from them are impure. For Allah, the Almighty, when He prohibits something, He also prohibits its sale. The proof for this is the hadith (definition) of Ibn Abbas in Sahih (definition) Muslim, where the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said concerning intoxicants: "Indeed, the One who prohibited its drinking prohibited its selling." Similarly, the hadith narrated by Ahmad states: "And indeed, when Allah prohibits a people from eating something, He prohibits its price to them." These texts encompass the prohibition of selling these forbidden items to Muslims and non-Muslims alike.
