Why does the Quranic text not address women, even in their private matters such as menstruation and breastfeeding?

If the Qur'an's address is in the masculine form, this is for the sake of predominance and simplification, and the meaning and ruling still apply to both males and females. The fundamental principle is equality between them in religious obligations, except where a specific proof (from the divine texts) differentiates. The address came in the feminine form in the verse about breastfeeding, as in the Almighty's saying: "And mothers suckle their children for two whole years." As for the verse about menstruation, it came as an answer to men's questions about the rulings of menstruation that pertain to them, and not to clarify the specific rulings of menstruation for women, as in the Almighty's saying: "And they ask you about menstruation. Say, 'It is a discomfort, so keep away from women during menstruation.'"
