Is it permissible to say that the pen is a human invention, and does that contradict the fact that the first thing Allah created was the Pen, bearing in mind that what is meant is the physical pen used for writing?

A distinction must be made between the Pen that wrote the decrees by Allah's command and the pen with which people write. The first Pen is a real, immensely significant pen, the true nature of which is known only to Allah. It was the first thing Allah created, and He commanded it to write destiny. It is made of light, and Allah created it with His Hand. As for the pen used by people, its matter is well-known, and it is of their invention and manufacture. This does not contradict our belief that the first thing Allah created was the first Pen; for Allah is the Creator of all things, including what humans produce.
