Serving a sick mother is among the greatest acts of righteousness and worship, and through it, you seek Paradise. When prayer time arrives, pray at a suitable time when your mother does not need you, even if it is at the very end of the prayer window. If you cannot find such a time, some jurists have permitted combining prayers when there is hardship, such as combining Dhuhr and Asr, or Maghrib and Isha. If serving your mother conflicts with performing a supererogatory prayer (nafl), then serving your mother takes precedence and has a greater reward, because it is an obligation (fard), and an obligation takes precedence over a supererogatory act.
