How do I cast lots between my wives when traveling?

Drawing lots is a legitimate means to determine which wife travels with her husband, and there is no specific religious text that prescribes a particular method for it. The jurists have mentioned means for drawing lots, such as rings and slips of paper. The preferred method is to cut small, equal slips of paper and place them in a man's lap or under a cloth for him to draw one. Any method by which lots are drawn is valid, as stated by Imam Ahmad and Ibn Jibreen.
