Does a triple divorce take effect if a man pronounces it to his wife in a moment of anger?

Anger does not prevent a divorce from occurring unless it reaches the point of loss of consciousness and perception. If you divorced your wife with three pronouncements and you did not reach this stage, then she is unlawful for you until she marries another husband, according to the majority of scholars. However, Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah holds the view that a triple divorce counts as a single one, and according to his opinion, you can take her back before her iddah (waiting period) expires if this was the first or second divorce. It is best to present the matter to the Sharia courts.
