Is an transgressor obligated to seek out those he has wronged and ask for their forgiveness, or is repentance sufficient, and will people exact retribution from him on the Day of Resurrection?

The door of repentance is open to every person as long as the soul has not reached the throat or the sun has not risen from the west. Allah Almighty has promised mercy and forgiveness to whoever repents and seeks forgiveness. The conditions for sincere repentance are remorse for sins, abstaining from them, and a sincere resolve not to return to them, along with restoring injustices to their rightful owners. Sins related to the rights of people require seeking absolution from those whose rights were violated; otherwise, the wronged person will take their right on the Day of Judgment through the oppressor's good deeds or sins. For one who is unable to seek absolution from the wronged person, it is hoped from Allah that He will satisfy the wronged person in the hereafter, and the repentant person should frequently seek forgiveness and supplicate for those whom they have wronged.
