The answer

To avoid anger, first avoid its causes. If anger does occur, seek refuge in Allah from Satan, the accursed. Among the ways to repel anger are changing the state one is in and performing ablution (wudu'), for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Indeed, anger is from Satan, and Satan was created from fire, and fire is extinguished by water. So, when one of you gets angry, he should perform ablution."
