What is the ruling on a husband cursing his wife's father while angry, and how should the wife deal with this situation?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

The husband's act of cursing is a great evil and forbidden (haram). He must repent and not return to it, and he should adorn himself with the noble ethics of a Muslim, for a Muslim is not one who slanders, curses, is obscene, or vulgar. The matter becomes even worse if the cursing is directed at someone with whom he has a relationship, such as through marriage (in-laws). Anger is not an excuse. Nevertheless, the wife should forgive her husband and consider what came from him as a slip due to anger, especially since he loves her and does not humiliate her.
