Does obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) that leads to doubt regarding the intention for ablution (wudu'), the number of times limbs are washed, the impurity of clothes due to pre-seminal fluid (madhiy) or passing wind, and the number of rak'ahs in prayer, permit me to interrupt and repeat the prayer, knowing that these doubts might lead me to abandon prayer altogether?
Whispers (waswas) are among the worst ailments, and their cure lies in seeking Allah's help, completely ignoring them, and consulting doctors.
If you intend to perform ablution (wudu'), begin it immediately without pausing to bring forth the intention. Wash your limbs without exaggeration or exceeding three times, and pay no attention to the whisper that water did not reach (a part).
If the splashing of urine is doubtful, pay no attention to it. There is no need to change clothes upon entering the restroom (khalaa'). Relieve yourself in a normal manner, taking precautions against urine splashes.
Do not pay attention to your doubt concerning the exit of pre-seminal fluid (madhiy) or feces. Act according to the original state, which is that nothing has exited until absolute certainty is attained.
To purify madhiy, it is sufficient to sprinkle a handful of water on the part of the clothing that has become impure.
In prayer, if you doubt the number of rak'ahs, do not pay attention to the doubt because you are afflicted with whispers (waswas). If you forget which rak'ah you are in, strive to determine and act upon what you predominantly believe to be true.
What is obligatory in bowing (ruku') is to bend down such that your hand touches your knee. Do not pay attention to whispers concerning bowing, and do not perform the prostration of forgetfulness (sujud al-sahw).
Strive against yourself to abandon these whispers, and beware of abandoning prayer.
