What is incumbent upon one who broke her fast for two months of Ramadan in the past and did not make them up due to the difficulty of fasting?

If breaking the fast is without a valid excuse, it is a grave sin that necessitates repentance and making up for the missed days (Qada'). Expiation (Kaffarah) is not required unless the fast was broken by sexual intercourse, according to the soundest opinions.

If breaking the fast is due to a valid excuse, such as illness or travel, there is no sin in breaking the fast itself. However, the sin of delaying the make-up necessitates making up for the missed days (Qada') along with feeding one poor person for each day for which the make-up was delayed. It is permissible to make up for the days separately.

If fasting is not possible due to old age or an incurable illness, then expiatory feeding (Fidya) is obligatory by feeding one poor person for each day that was not fasted.
