Does divorce take place upon a pregnant woman?

According to the consensus of jurists, a pregnant woman's divorce is valid, whether revocable or irrevocable. Her divorce is considered a Sunnah (definition) divorce if she is divorced once, according to the majority of jurists, or three times with a month between each two divorces, according to some. If all three divorces are pronounced at once, her divorce is valid, according to the majority of scholars, though it is sinful. The waiting period (iddah (definition)) for a pregnant woman ends when she gives birth, as Allah Almighty says: "And for those who are pregnant, their term is until they deliver their burdens."
