Is it permissible to return to one's first love and leave the current husband, knowing that the husband is religious, of good character, and loves his wife, but she still loves someone else and wishes to return to him?

It is not permissible for a woman to seek divorce without a legitimate Sharia reason, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Any woman who asks her husband for divorce without any [justifiable] cause, the scent of Paradise will be forbidden to her." A woman's attachment to another man is not an excuse that permits her to seek divorce. Likewise, it is not permissible for that man or his family to strive to separate the woman from her husband, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "He is not one of us who incites a woman against her husband." The wife must forget this man and not sacrifice her religious and well-mannered husband for his sake.
