What is the ruling on a person naming himself "Satan" in online forums, while claiming that it is merely a name and that he does not follow in his footsteps?

It is forbidden for a Muslim to use the name "Satan" (Shaytan) in their forum usernames or comments, for the following reasons:

Firstly: A title indicates its owner, and one must choose a good one, because "the meaning of a title is a name by which one is called; it suggests the humility or elevation of the one named, and its purpose is fame. So, whatever is disliked is forbidden."

Secondly: Titles and pseudonyms carry indications about the personality or thoughts of the one using them.

Thirdly: Islamic law has prohibited following the path of Satan or imitating him. If imitating his behavior is forbidden, then naming oneself after him is even more so.

Fourthly: The widespread use of the name Satan trivializes the obligation to oppose him and avoid his path, and it becomes an aid to his followers.
