What is the ruling on naming oneself "The Qur'an and the Sunnah" and "Allah is the One Whose Help is Sought" and the like in forums, and is it permissible to address the one named thus as "my brother, The Qur'an and the Sunnah" or "my brother, Allah is the One Whose Help is Sought"?

It is not permissible to name or title oneself with "The Quran and the Sunnah," or "The Quran is My Path," or "The Quran is the Life of Hearts," or "The Quran is My Methodology," and similar phrases, for the following reasons:

1. It involves self-praise for the one named. Scholars have disliked names appended with "al-Din" (the religion) or "al-Islam" (Islam) due to the great self-praise they entail. So, whoever names himself "The Quran and the Sunnah" is as if he claims to be the Quran and the Sunnah himself. 2. It involves self-praise, and Allah has forbidden praising oneself. 3. It goes against the style of the Arabic language. Arabs do not name themselves with phrases like "Allah is the Helper" or "Allah Knows Best." 4. It may lead to belittling the Quran, the Sunnah, and the Lord Almighty, such as when they say to someone named thus: "You made a mistake, O Quran and Sunnah!" 5. If the one named with such a name dies, it will be said: "The death of Allah is my Lord!" or "The Quran and the Sunnah passed away today!" This is ugly and forbidden.

Therefore, these names and titles must be avoided, and one should only use what is permissible by Islamic law.
