What is the ruling on asking others to supplicate, and is that considered seeking intercession with other than Allah?

Praying for an expedited marriage is a good thing, and asking others to pray has two aspects: one preferable, and one less so. The first [preferable] is when the request is intended to benefit the Muslim from whom the prayer is sought. The second [less preferable] is solely for the benefit of the requester himself, which is what is feared to be among the blameworthy forms of begging. Moreover, asking for prayers can lead to two detriments: the one praying may become conceited, and the requester may become dependent on the prayers of others, neglecting to supplicate to his Lord himself. It is better for a person to pray to his Lord himself, for supplication is an act of worship and a rectifier of the heart.
