Isn't calling the holidays of disbelievers by incorrect names a form of mockery, as Ali did by calling "Nowruz" "Fahruuz"?

The answer

The narration is authentic, and it contains an exaggeration concerning Ali's, may Allah be pleased with him, opposition to the Magians in their festival. Mentioning this festival or other festivals of the polytheists by name is permissible, and what befits Ali's understanding and character is that his motive in this expression was only to dissociate from falsehood and to protect oneself from it. It is inconceivable that this expression is from the prohibited mockery, because these polytheistic festivals are falsehood that has no sanctity whatsoever, and Muslims must be repelled from them. Such expressions are only avoided if they lead to corruption.
