Parents must choose appropriate educational methods for their children, and they are responsible for their flock. If they strive and are not successful, there is no sin upon them, and they will be rewarded. In such a case, children should advise their parents gently, pray for them, and involve righteous people. As for mental illness, treatment for it is required, and despairing of recovery is not permissible.
