What is the ruling on one who utters a word of disbelief or divorces his wife while under the influence of drugs, and is he required to re-utter the Two Testimonies of Faith or re-conclude the marriage contract?

Drug abuse is a major sin due to the corruption that results from it.

If a person who has taken drugs is aware of what he is saying and intends it, then his words of disbelief constitute disbelief and his divorce is valid, because he is among those who are held accountable.

But if he is not conscious of what he is saying and does not intend it, then his words of disbelief do not constitute disbelief and his divorce is not valid.

If a person's apostasy is established, and he was not coerced, mistaken, or mentally incapacitated, and he wishes to return to Islam, he should pronounce the two Shahadas, perform ghusl, seek Allah's forgiveness, and hasten to perform good deeds.
