Is it permissible for a wife to continue her university studies in a city 200 kilometers away, residing in university accommodation, while her husband works abroad for one month and spends one month on vacation?

If the studies adhere to the controls of Sharia, such as avoiding forbidden mixing or traveling without a mahram, and the wife not neglecting her marital duties, then she must be enabled to complete her studies and be assisted. This is because it strengthens affection and improves companionship, especially since she requested it after the marriage contract and the husband agreed. Fulfilling a promise is desirable, even if it is not obligatory according to the most sound opinion, because not fulfilling it might sour the relationship.

Two points should be noted: If the condition was made before the marriage contract, then fulfilling it is obligatory. And a mahram is required for a woman's travel, not for her residence, though she must reside in a safe place.
