What is the authenticity and explanation of the Hadith: "Whoever remembers Me in a gathering, I will remember him in a gathering better than theirs," and does it indicate the permissibility of legitimate dhikr gatherings, and what is the alternative to them?

The Hadith Qudsi states: "I am as My servant thinks of Me, and I am with him when he remembers Me. If he remembers Me to himself, I remember him to Myself; and if he remembers Me in a gathering, I remember him in a gathering better than theirs." "Gathering" here refers to a group. So, whoever remembers Allah in a group, Allah remembers him in a group better than theirs, namely the High Assembly of angels. This Hadith indicates the virtue of gatherings of remembrance (dhikr), similar to the Hadith narrated by the two Shaykhs (Al-Bukhari and Muslim) on the authority of Abu Hurairah, that angels roam to seek out the people of remembrance. When they find them, they encompass them with their wings up to the sky, and Allah forgives them, and "they are the companions whose companion will not be miserable."
