Is it permissible for someone who wants to offer expiation for an oath (kaffarat yamin) by clothing ten needy persons, to clothe one needy person with two garments on two consecutive days, and is a pair of trousers or a shirt considered a garment?

According to the majority of scholars, it is not permissible to give the expiation for an oath to a single poor person. Rather, it must be distributed among ten poor people, either by giving each poor person a single garment or by feeding them. The garment must be modest, sufficient for prayer, and protect from heat and cold. A pair of trousers alone or a shirt alone is not sufficient unless it is ample and long enough to cover the 'awrah during prayer.
