Is one hundred Riyals given to charities sufficient as an expiation for an oath without seeking out people to feed, and is giving charities clothes that are in excess of one's needs with the intention of clothing sufficient as an expiation for an oath?

The expiation for an oath (kaffarat al-yamin) has been clarified by Allah in His statement: "Its expiation is the feeding of ten poor people from the average of that which you feed your own families or clothing them or the freeing of a slave. But whoever cannot find [each of these] - then a fast of three days." It is permissible to delegate an organization or an individual to provide the expiation in the form of food for ten poor people from the average food that is typically given, and the sufficient clothing is that which is suitable for prayer, such as a shirt, or an izar (lower garment) and a rida' (upper garment). It is permissible for these clothes to be used, as long as they are not worn out and have not lost their usefulness.
