What is the ruling on one who swore by Allah and by the Qur'an repeatedly not to commit an evil act, then committed it, and then swore again and did not commit it?

If a person swears by Allah's name or by the Qur’an to abandon an evil act according to Sharia, and then commits it, he is obligated to offer expiation (kaffarah) for each oath, according to most scholars. Some, however, are of the view that it is a single expiation. He must strive to abandon the sin and should not swear excessively.
