Is it considered a lie to say that all Christians do not believe in God or the Last Day, while some of them believe in God as the one sole Creator, deny the Trinity, and believe in the Day of Resurrection and Reckoning, Jesus (peace be upon him), angels, and Paradise and Hellfire?

The origin of the confusion in understanding the true nature of faith according to Islamic law lies in the fact that merely acknowledging God's sole creation is insufficient. Polytheists acknowledged this, yet they were not described as believers, because faith is not complete except through the monotheistic worship of God alone.

Belief in the Last Day is not valid except by believing in God alone, as it is a branch stemming from the root principle of belief in God.

Belief in the Last Day must be as established in revelation, and mere affirmation of the general principle is insufficient. The People of the Book are not truly believers in the Last Day.

Those who deny the Last Day are of three types: atheists, those who acknowledge the Creator but deny resurrection, and those who believe in a return [to God] but not in accordance with the descriptions of the divine laws.
