Is it impermissible for the people who made a vow to eat from their offering, and is rice pudding permissible or an innovation?

It is permissible for the one who made a vow to change his vow to something else if it is more beneficial for the poor. The vowed item should be spent on the designated party, and the one who made the vow and his family should not consume from it. If no party was designated, then it is permissible to consume from it according to the Malikis and some Shafi'is. Conditional vows are disliked by the majority of scholars, but one must fulfill them. There is a difference of opinion regarding absolute vows, oscillating between dislikement and commendation. The Malikis hold that repeated vows are disliked. All scholars agree that fulfilling a vow is obligatory.
