Does a husband have the right to compel his wife to wear a head abaya instead of a shoulder abaya, based on his belief that it is more concealing?

We have previously clarified the difference between a shoulder-abaya and a head-abaya, and the caveats associated with the shoulder-abaya. The purpose of hijab is concealment. If a shoulder-abaya provides concealment, then the wife is not obligated to obey her husband's command to wear a head-abaya. For the Sharia-compliant hijab does not have a specific form, but rather conditions. If these conditions are met in any garment, it becomes a Sharia-compliant garment. Deliberation, reason, and seeking wisdom are incumbent upon both spouses.
