What is the ruling on entering the lavatory and touching soiled banknotes that bear the name of Allah? And is what is being circulated true, that Sheikh Ibn Baz — may Allah have mercy on him — permitted wearing the cross?

The name of Allah must not be exposed to desecration. However, handling banknotes that bear the لفظ الجلالة (the majestic word "Allah") and placing them in bags is not considered desecration. Some scholars permit entering restrooms with these banknotes, while others dislike it except in cases of necessity. This does not reach the level of prohibition due to widespread prevalence (umum al-balwa). Sheikh Ibn Baz (may Allah have mercy on him) denied what was attributed to him regarding this matter, emphasizing that it was a baseless fabrication.
