Is it permissible to pray and seek forgiveness in a place where a sin has been committed?

A Muslim must repent to Allah from sins. There is no impediment to praying and seeking forgiveness in the place where the sin was committed, unless staying there reminds him of the sins and leads him to return to them due to the corruption of its people and the prevalence of corrupt mixing. In that case, it becomes necessary to distance oneself from that place.
