How is justice achieved between wives regarding household services in terms of accommodation, outings, gifts and giving, treatment, number (of servants), and salary?

The ruling in these matters refers back to justice between wives and equitable treatment among them in what exceeds the obligatory, and there is a difference of opinion among scholars regarding this:

- Some scholars are of the view that the husband is not obliged to treat his wives equally in what exceeds the obligatory, such as gifts and grants.

- Others are of the view that equality and justice between wives are obligatory, even in what is beyond the obligatory amount.

- While others believe that it is recommended to treat them equally in everything to avoid the dispute of those who made it obligatory.

- The esteemed scholar Ibn Uthaymin considered it correct that justice in everything one is able to be just in is obligatory.

- Whereas Sheikh Al-Sa'di elaborated that what people consider an injustice and oppression from the husband is an injustice that must be removed, and what is not so, there is no harm in preferring in it.

What seems more appropriate is that a person should be just and treat his wives equally in everything he can be just in, as much as possible; based on the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "Whoever has two wives and inclines to one of them more than the other, will come on the Day of Resurrection with one of his sides leaning."
