Do seventy thousand angels pray for whoever dies after reciting Surat Al-Ikhlas in every prayer?
No hadith has been reported regarding reciting Surat Al-Ikhlas one hundred thousand times with such and such an intention. Had this been established, the Prophet, may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him, his Companions, and the Successors would have done it. The surah holds immense significance due to its embodiment of the foundations of monotheism. What has been authentically reported regarding its فضائل (virtues) is what is narrated in Sahih al-Bukhari from Abu Sa’id al-Khudri, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Prophet, may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him, said about it: "By Him in Whose Hand my soul is, it is equal to one-third of the Qur'an." It is sufficient that it was specifically named Surat Al-Ikhlas.
