Is it permissible for my husband to place a gambling device in his shop with the intention of selling it and donating the profits as charity, knowing that he does not mix these profits with his lawful money?

Gambling is one of the gravest sins, for Allah the Almighty says: ﴿O YOU who believe! Intoxicants and gambling, [idols] and divining arrows are but an abomination of Satan’s handiwork. So avoid them, so that you may prosper. Satan only wants to stir up enmity and hatred between you with intoxicants and gambling, and to divert you from the remembrance of Allah and from prayer. Will you not then desist?﴾
